welcome to issue #1 of ronjie.com, the magazine of interesting bits! in this issue, we have great news for IKEA fans in the philippines like myself. but there is some bad news there. we also have our SUDOKU, RAW links, and did-you-know?, which will be regular features here on ronjie.com. we also re-published some prustrations and coach potato review articles (as a "patikim" or appetizer).

section descriptions

what were formerly individual blogs are now "blog threads" in this ONE BLOG format. as an "e-zine," these blog threads are similar to sections/columns of a magazine or newspaper.
we have used blogger's "labels" feature, which is the equivalent of tags in other blogging webware (e.g. wordpress, livejournal), to distinguish between sections. under each post, you can see which section the post belongs to. the list of all sections are on the right sidebar.
here are the descriptions of all the sections.

- did you know? - an interesting piece of information that ronjie.com recently discovered
- feature art/photo - featured art work or photo by ronjie.com and friends
- sudoku - part of FOG (free online games)
- coach potato's corner - (CPC for short) ronjie's rave reviews of movies, books, music, tv series, events, blogs, and so on
- coach potato's consumer watch - reviews of restaurants, retail stores, service providers, hotels, and other similar establishments which violate consumer protection laws
- coach potato's traffic watch - problems with traffic laws and traffic enforcement officers
- free online games - free online games! (FOG)
- marketplace - bargain items for sale
- prustrations - purpose, prophecy, and philosophy
- thoughts - deep into the inner brain cells of ronjie.com (random musings)

E-ZINE
ronjie.com, with its new format, is actually taking on an e-zine format. e-zine of course is short for "electronic magazine," and pronounced as "ee-zyn." the plan is one day, it will be updated daily; that is, there are "issues" daily, although for now, the target is to have at least a monthly issue. then if we are able to accommodate it, we will target a semi-monthly (twice a month) issue, then a weekly issue, and so on, until we have a daily issue.
the e-zine format is evident in that, if you have noticed already, for each "issue," there are many different articles, features, and sections. the aim is to have regular "did you know?," "around the web," "feature photo," and "FWD" sections. plus there will be at least one feature article from coach potato's corner (movie, book, tv series, and blog reviews), coach potato's consumer watch (restaurant, retail store, hotel, other service provider reviews), coach potato's traffic watch (opinions on traffic rules and regulations, etc.), reactions+reflections (reactions and reflections on scripture and other inspirational texts), thoughts (random musings), and prustrations (philosophical essays).

from anonymous: the new ronjie.com looks good by itself and because there's just one blog with many "sections" instead of many blogs, there's just one template used - there is just one ronjie.com look. it's boring actually. i miss the different templates used for the different blogs at the old ronjie.com. and what was good back then was, the template design and/or color scheme somehow matched the theme/topic of the blog.yep, the old ronjie.com was cool but it is hard to manage. would you like to work for free? kidding. anyhow, i'm sure that soon we will be able to find just the appropriate template for the new ronjie.com. until then, cheers!
