You all probably know of Sprite, that lemon-lime soda drink from the makers of Coke, and that we usually don't drink if there's Coke anyways. But did you know that "Sprite" is a few other things, too?

1. "Sprites are large-scale electrical discharges that occur high above thunderstorm clouds." In short, they're like lightning except that instead of being burst from the clouds down to earth, they're being burst up into the upper atmosphere.
2. They could also refer to spirits like ghosts, and elves, dwarves, and pixies.
3. In computer graphics, a sprite is a 2D pre-rendered figure.
4. It is also the name of an operating system developed at the University of California, Berkeley.
5. A spayed jill (or female ferret) is called a sprite.
6. Sprites are certain types of characters in the cartoon Rainbow Brite.
7. Many more actually! Why don't you go over to Wikipedia to learn about all sorts of Sprites.

So are you Surprised about Sprite yet?
